Setting goals
First, decide what you want to do with your flute playing. Whatever it is, it's okay! You don't have to work toward being the greatest flutist in the history of the world. If you want to sit in your living room and play along with accompaniment CDs, great! Maybe you want to be part of an ensemble or a local orchestra. That's a cool goal, too. Personal goal setting is what you want it to be. Just make a decision.
Perhaps you want to give recitals. Setting performance goals is a great way to learn flute repertoire.
