Play Along CD
A play along CD is a great resource for the flutist. It makes practicing more fun. Most of us don't have the luxury of a full-time accompanist and rarely have the chance to play with a back-up band behind us.
That's what a play along CD gives you. Just pop in the CD and the orchestra or jazz ensemble gives you a perfect accompaniment, with varied instrumentation and cool effects.
In addition to being fun (as if we need more!), the accompaniment helps you learn the piece and provides a valuable intonation guide.
Even simple music gives you the opportunity to practice tone studies and phrasing.
It also keeps you going when you just don't feel like practicing.
Start practicing from a play along book and before you know it, an hour has gone by!
