Low C on flute

Question: My low C on my flute will not come out.

Answer: Your embouchure should be relaxed at all times and the corners of your mouth should not be pulled back. Try these tips:

1) Relax your lower jaw. Pretend your jaw is falling on the floor.

2) Pout by rolling your bottom lip down.

3) Lower your soft palate - Imagine your stifling a yawn or holding a golf ball in your mouth.

4) Start the note using the syllable "tur" (as in "turtle").

5) Aim your airstream at the ground.
