How can I get my fingers to move faster?

How can I get my fingers to move faster?

Thanks

Hi!

Lots of practice!

That's a simple answer, I know, but it works!

The best things to practice are scales and other technical exercises.

Practice with a metronome so that you can track your tempo.

There are lots of scale books available for flutists. Give this one a try.

Here's a great etude book by Mary Karen Clardy for practicing technique.

Start practicing at a tempo that you can play all the notes. Don't go too fast at first! If you can't play something slowly, you can't play it fast, either!

Gradually move your metronome tempo faster. Your fingers will move faster over time as you practice on a consistent basis.

Good luck! You'll be playing at blazing speed before you know it!
