High C on my flute won't play...

I play a Gemeinhardt flute that's approximately 5 years old and the high C won't come out very clear. I need to play that note for an audition piece and it is in a 32nd note run, so the note needs to come out crisp, clear, and quickly. Do you have any advice? :)?

Hi!

Does your flute have a B foot attachment with a gizmo key? If so, close the gizmo key while playing the high C. It's nearly impossible to get that high C out if the gizmo key isn't closed.

If you don't have a gizmo key to close, you might just need to use more air and blow more forcefully. Use a relaxed embouchure as well.

You might also consider taking your flute to a repair person or technician to be sure that you don't have leaky pads.
