High A fingering on the flute

Question: I am really stuck because I don't know the fingering for top A! Please can you help?


Answer: Sure, I can help!

This is actually an easy one to remember.

First, play the fingering for the lower two As.

Now, switch the index fingers. Pick the left index finger up and put the right index finger down. That's it!

Now you need a strong, fast airstream to get this high A out. Push strongly from the abdomen/diaphragm. Don't tense your embouchure, though.
