    <description>The Flute Symphony of Lexington (Kentucky) is proud to announce The First Annual Les Smart Scholarship Competition.  

Sponsored by a dedicated member of the ensemble, the solo competition will feature categories for middle and high school students in two rounds. 

The recorded round deadline for receipt of CDs or cassettes is December 1, 2008. Final round competitors will 
perform live in early March 2009. The top three finalists in each category 
will receive monetary prizes, and the winners will perform in concert with 
the Flute Symphony as accompanying ensemble.</description>
