Flute contemporary music

Flute contemporary music encompasses a wide variety of styles.

More specifically, contemporary flute music is anything written from the beginning of the 20th century to the present time.

In this period of time, composers are much more likely to have their own unique style of music rather than following the trend of the time.

And so much the better for musicians.

Pick out any four or five pieces of 20th or 21st century flute music and you will find baroque, classical, romantic, impressionistic, and 12-tone writing techniques.

For example, the Hindemith and Prokofiev sonatas both fall into the classical style of composition, we is commonly called neoclassical.

Regional styles are very prominent as well. The Martinu sonata incorporates the Eastern Europe background of this composer.
