Christmas flute music

Christmas flute music is great fun! The best season of the year for flute music!

There are so many traditional songs arranged for flute, but every year new seasonal compositions are introduced, as well as new arrangements.

Aside from solos, there are many duets, trios, quartets and larger flute ensembles.

Church choirs often perform choral numbers with flute obliggato. Check with your choir director.

There are numerous opportunities to play Christmas flute music in churches. You could play before or during the Christmas pageant or children's musical performance. If there is a special Christmas dinner, play during that. Play carols for the Christmas Eve service.

Share your music outside of church...

Christmas is a great time to share your music with others. How about playing at a nursing home? You could take a CD player along with a flute book and CD accompaniment and play carols. Got a flute player friend or two? Play some Christmas duets and trios.

Last Christmas, my family and I played by the Salvation Army kettle. Instead of a bell ringing, there was live Christmas music. We were right next to the food court in the mall and people loved it! This is a great way to share your musical talents and help a worthy organization. The kettle collects a lot more donations when there is live music playing. You could do this with a flute duet or trio, or an entire flute choir.

Check with a hospital and ask if they would like to have some live music for Christmas.

Have a Christmas party for your flutist and musician friends, and play carols. There are books available for every instrument so that everyone could play.
