Can you learn the flute from the Internet

Question: Flute lessons are really expensive, so I was wondering if it was possible to do some online for free. Also, if you can do it online, do you thinks it's a good idea?

Answer: Yes, I think you can learn to play the flute from online instruction. Do I think this is the best way? No, I think it would be great if we could all take private lessons at Juilliard. But that isn't going to happen, so we need to seize the best opportunities that are available. For some people, that will be online lessons.

Your results will also depend on your motivation, too. If you really, really want to learn how to play the flute more than anything else in the world, you will learn as much as you can from every source you can get your hands on, practice a lot and become a good flutist.

On the other hand, there are students who have every advantage possible and take in-person private lessons from wonderful teachers. They don't practice or put much effort at all into learning how to play the flute. So which is better?
