Breathing

by Sarah
(Canada)

Question: Hey, I've been playing the flute for around two years now. I've always been having trouble breathing. Is there something that I could do to help me breath at a considerable pace?

Answer: Practice. There's no way around it!

It takes lots of air to play the flute. Consistent practice over time will help you get better. See my pages on...

Breath control

Deep breathing

Breath support

Just devote some time to these exercises every day and you'll be amazed at how much better you get.

Also, are you physically active? You might consider taking up swimming or running.
