B-flat flute fingerings

by Jessie
(Paterson New jersey USA)

Question: How do you finger a B-flat?

Answer: There are actually three ways to finger B-flat on the flute for the low and middle notes.

I have a video on my B-flat page that shows you these three fingerings.

Note that the high B-flat, way above the staff, has a totally different fingering.

It looks like the first fingering I outlined in the video, except you also have to press down the first trill key in the right hand. I play this with the middle finger of the right hand.

Thanks for writing and keep practicing!
